He said: Chilled before drinking. Clear, light oat straw color. Light fresh cut grass, goose berry and citrus aroma. Very smooth, fairly strong, slightly tart citrus taste that finishes with a long slightly crisp finish with lots of mineral that lasted well past the finish. Drinking alone and with the salmon the citrus taste was quite strong and overwhelming. It was very different from the Semillon we have had in the past. This didn’t have the honey aromas and tropical fruit and smokey taste we expected. In the end I would describe this as “not bad” but a disappointing pairing with the salmon.
She said: Light yellow and crystal clear with snails for legs. The wine had citrus aroma followed by a mild citrus flavor. With an alcohol content of only 10.5% it was very smooth and easy drinking. The long finish was crisp and continues the citrus flavor which saves the wine from being bland. The wine was a poor pairing with the salmon. The citrus elements in the bouquet, flavor and finish were not complementary to the fish and I would not try the combination again. On the other hand the wine was very pleasant, but one dimensional in terms of flavor or aroma. The flavorful long smooth finish makes this a buy again wine, but at a more reasonable price, since there are a lot of similar wines that are cheaper.
