He said: Chilled before opening. Crystal clear and almost colorless; there was just a tiny bit of light yellow/green cast. Quite nice pear and light tropical fruit aromas. Very smooth mouth feel and light tropical and citrus taste that goes into a strong quite long bitter finish. OK with the dinner but when sipping alone the bitter finish dominated. For only $8.00 it squeaks by as “not bad” and it’s an improvement over the Sauvignon Blanc we have had the last few days. As a result I’ll recommend it as Not Bad for $8.00.
She said: Tacos is not an easy dinner to pair with wine and Ray chose a Sauvignon Blanc from Chile. It did well with the dinner perhaps because the spiciness of the tacos hid the faults of the wine. After dinner the pleasing aroma and first taste remained but a sourness crept into the finish. At $8.00 I would buy it again for this kind of dinner (spicy) but I would also be open to other possibilities. I would not recommend it for most foods or as a sipping wine.
