He said: Chilled before drinking. Clear, almost without color, just a tad of golden/green tint. Strong gooseberry, tropical fruit and slight hints of citrus aromas. Intense crisp citrus and very ripe tropical fruit taste that continues through a long finish. Very SMOOTH, rich flavors and such an easy drinking sauvignon blanc before dinner. With the chicken it was “PERFECT” just enough creaminess in the chicken sauce, and just enough flavor and acidity in the wine. In a word OUTSTANDING. A GREAT Australian Sauvignon Blanc that’s good with food and delicious drinking alone.
She said: Clear with numerous well spaced legs that move with zest. The first sniff is of gooseberry followed by more citrus flavor. Very pleasant mouth-feel, dry, very smooth, and finishes well on a delicate note and floral hints. As the wine warmed and opened up the floral hints continued to develop as did the gooseberry aroma and flavor. This is not a “shrinking violet” wine but it’s not “in your face either”. It’s right in between. Nice with the caesar salad and a great pairing with the chicken. This wine had the admirable quality of adding layers of flavor during dinner. It is an excellent wine for sipping but also does well with salad and chicken.
Comments: Purchased in a Sidney, Australia wine shop and consumed in the Britannia Restaurant on board the Cunard Queen Mary 2.
