He said: Chilled before opening. Clear, light oat straw color. Over ripe pear and crab apple aromas with hints of floral. SMOOTH, creamy fruit taste that ends with a dramatic change that includes crisp acidity and a slight bitterness in the long finish. Very delicious drinking alone; as it warmed up the fruit flavors became more pronounced and it was even more delicious. Paired with the chicken it was EXCELENT…the wine was a perfect complement with the cinnamon flavors in the chicken. Clearly a VERY different Pinot Gris than we’re use to drinking, but were quickly becoming coverts!!! Two thumbs up on this one from me. GREAT Tasmanian Pinot Gris that is VERY delicious and food friendly.
She said: Clear with sparse irregular legs that crawled down the glass. Delicate floral aroma leads to tasty mellow flavors of ripe pear. Smooth, slightly creamy on the palate but finishing with a snap of acidity. At first I was just OK with the pairing, but the more I ate and sipped the better the two blended together in lovely harmony each complementing the other. The more I drink these Australian and New Zealand style Pinot Gris the more I like them and this is a good example. The floral elements plus the pear and the acidity in the finish make great sipping as well as great pairing with food.
