He said: Chilled before drinking. Clear, with just a touch of pale yellow color. Quite strong floral aromas with hints of citrus. Flat, VERY disappointing creamy sweet taste with a slightly tart finish. Sweet Pinot Grigio just doesn’t cut it. Not the worst Pinot Grigio we have had, but it’s near the bottom of the list!!!
She said: Golden yellow, clear, and with a lot of thin zippy legs, surprising because the alcohol content is only 12%. Very mild citrus aroma with a simple sweet fruity taste. Smooth, sweet, medium bodied and with a sweet finish that is disappointing. When I anticipate a Pinot Grigio I think of dry and crisp and this was neither. I am not totally unaccustomed to such wines as many of the Australian and New Zealand wines we have had fit into this same category, but I can’t help but wonder if this wine isn’t catering to the preference for sweet wines that the American’s like because of their upbringing on a multitude of sugary soft drinks such as Coke. This is a drinkable wine but I would not bother buying it again at any price because it is too sweet.
