He said: Served chilled. Crystal clear with a light wheat straw color. Light spring floral and ripe pear and peach aromas. Intense, smooth, pear and apple taste with excellent crisp acidity. Medium-long finish with a delicious mineral taste. This is a WOW wine. In fact I would call it OUTSTANDING. I absolutely love the mouth-feel…you can feel the texture as you taste it!!! Great with the Thai dinner and great sipping after the dinner. This is already on my list to buy on our next visit to the Caviste.
She said: This Gruner Veltliner was light, dry and flavorful with hints of green apple. The bouquet was not overwhelming and the flavor was mild and not floral as I expected. Still, it was delicious and a good pairing with the dinner. At $25 I would buy it again because of it’s unique flavors and smoothness.
Comments: The 2011 vintage was Wine Spectator Number 65 on the Top 100 wines of 2012.
