He said: Crystal clear, pale light straw color. Light floral aromas. Strong pear taste, with hints of cinnamon, that goes into a medium-short strong flavored finish. This is creamy, flavorful, dry and went PERFECTLY with the spicy, pretty hot, delicious Indian dinner. Because of the creamy texture there was the slightest hint of sweetness. The wine was very good and OUTSTANDING with this dinner. I would strongly recommend it with spicy Asian food. In a nutshell, we loved it.
She said: This was our first adventure into cooking specifically for a Gewurztraminer. After consulting What to Drink and What to Eat I decided on an Indian recipe featuring garum masala which I happened to have on hand. The dinner was fragrant and was complemented by the fragrant wine. Absolutely delicious!!! From the first sniff to the following flavor the floral notes were delightful. The wine was refreshing and complemented the complex flavors of the dinner while soothing the heat. I expected an overly sweet wine but this was certainly not. It was dry and fruity with lots of flavor and depth; a perfect complement to our hot spicy dinner. At $15.30 I highly recommend it as a bargain wine.
After dinner I could taste a snap of bitterness which was a great way to wind down from the dinner, but I don’t know that I would have liked it as much before the dinner as a sipping wine. But as dinner time ebbed I was very happy with the pairing; It was everything I hoped for and more.
This is one of those dinners where the wine was enhanced by the dinner and the dinner was enhanced by the wine; a culinary coup!!!!
