He said: Chilled before serving. Very, very light oat straw color. Nice floral, ripe apricot and heavy honeysuckle aromas. VERY sweet apricot taste that carries all the way through the medium-length finish. OK with the slightly spicy dinner, but terrible without food. Creamy, sweet syrup mouth feel and little taste other than sweet. About what I expected…I recommend spending a little more and get a MUCH better Gewurtztraminer. We love the Gundlach Bundschu Gewurztraminer with both Indian food and turkey dinner at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
She said: With typical floral bouquet this Gewurtraminer had a clawing sweet taste that did well with the dinner but was frightful alone. The dinner was spicy but not hot in deference to Ray’s taste buds but when I added sriracha sauce to my own dinner the pairing did well. The bouquet and taste goes on into a long finish but the sweetness hovers through the last of the finish. If you like syrupy sweet wine you will probably like this but if you don’t there will be a problem. As I said before it was good with dinner and probably other spicy meals but considering its poor performance alone I can not recommend it
