He said: Chilled before opening. Clear, sparkling, light oat straw color. Ripe melon, tropical fruit and hints of floral aromas. Quite strong, smooth, slightly tart, ripe fruit taste and a long, dry, crisp finish that ends with a slight mineral taste. For my palate it was especially good because it lacked the sweetness found in many South African Chenin Blancs. Refreshing, fruity and dry, it’s and an excellent value and delicious summer wine.
She said: We don’t have Chenin Blanc often, but I wish we would have more. If this one is representative of them, they are winners. I don’t like sweet wines in general but this chenin blanc offers enough sweetness to be creamy without being clawing or tiresome. The aroma was the first indication the wine was going to be delightful with its fruity and flora scents. On the palate the wine blossomed with flavor and presented its solid body and sensuous texture. The finish was long and filled with flavor. We drank this as a sipping wine and ultimately added pretzels to our snack. It went well either way but I am thinking Asian food, especially Indian masala garum as an accompaniment. This is a great wine and a bargain at $11. I love it enough to plan a whole meal around it!
