He said: Chilled before opening. Medium golden color with just a slight tint of green. Floral and lemon aromas. Smooth, dry, quite intense (slightly tart) lemon citrus taste that finishes with LOTS of mineral and citrus fruit. Outstanding with the pesto and equally good sipping after the lunch. We had the 2012 (see our review of Domaine Du Pas Saint Martin Saumur 2012 and recommended it as a Quality wine at a Bargain price and the 2013 was every bit as good.
She said: Medium yellow color, clear, with irregularly spaced, thick, plodding legs. Lovely aroma with floral and fruity scents. Diverse flavors burst forth in the mouth and were complemented by a medium body with a pleasant mild creaminess. The finish was long and carried the creaminess and fruity flavors. A fabulous wine and a bargain at $12.60.
Comments: Guest taster: Paired with a basil pesto, tomato, mozzarella panini this Saumur had a bright golden color and a pleasing soft aroma and a delicious lemon taste. It paired very well with the tomato and mild cheese and stood up to the basil in the panini. The pleasant lingering taste remained begging for another sip. This was a very enjoyable wine.
