Tasting:

Chilled before opening. Clear, dark wheat straw color with a tinge of pink and orange. Slightly sherry like, ripe apple, pear and floral aromas. Oxidized mouthfeel, dry, medium body and a 200-grit texture. Strong flavors of sherry, mineral, apple and apricot with a honey taste in the background. Fresh acidity and a long mineral finish that ended with a robust ripe apple and lemon taste. We thought this wine had lots of promise. When I pulled the cork it was intact and looked fine, but was soft and slid so easily out of the bottle I was concerned. We like Sherry so the oxidation was distracting, but not offensive and we would certainly buy another bottle and hope for a better cork. We called it an oxidized Chenin Blanc with great potential.
