He said: Chilled before drinking. Crystal clear, dark oat straw color. Intense ripe apple aroma with hints of fresh cut grass and honeysuckle. Very smooth, medium body, a tad creamy, yet still crisp and just off dry; ripe apple, honey and pineapple flavors that quickly turn toward tartness and end with a VERY long finish that’s slightly bitter. WOW, WOW…there is lots going on when drinking this wine!!! It’s truly Chenin Blanc that grows on you with each sip. As it warmed up it became more aromatic, flavorful and enticing. By the last sip I put this into our category of a QUALITY wine at a BARGAIN price and gave it two thumbs up. It’s an EXCELLENT South African Chenin Blanc that’s great quality for the price.
She said: Clear, golden yellow color. Fragrant and fruity, this Chenin Blanc was slightly creamy although not sweet. It had a medium body, fresh acidity and a long finish with a taste of bitterness at the end. It was best with that baked beans, but scrumptious with the hot dogs and salad, and equally good sipping alone. A delicious Chenin Blanc and a bargain at $13.50.
