He said: Chilled before drinking. Clear, Very light oat straw color. Light citrus, peach and damp earth aromas. Lively, smooth mouth-feel with a long lingering tartness that eventually ends with a slight bitterness. Lots of good characters for a California Chardonnay. Appealing crisp acidity, just hints of oak, zero sweetness and a great tart mineral finish. It’s not Old World, but it’s a great bridge between old and new world Chardonnay and maybe an example of the way California Chardonnay is evolving. I would say it’s an EXCELLENT California Chardonnay at a good price.
She said: Clear greenish yellow color. The citrus aroma was enhanced in the mouth by hints of oak. The wine was medium bodied, smooth, dry and pleasantly acidic. The finish continued a slight oak flavor at first, but ended with a touch of tartness that was almost better. The wine was very good shipping, but a bit overwhelmed by the strong flavors of the dinner. A very nice wine at a reasonable price.
