(2015 Tasting) Chilled before drinking. Clear, very light wheat straw color. tropical fruit, ripe melon, lemon, Golden Delicious apple and limestone aromas. Smooth, mellow, solid medium body and a 200-grit texture. Very flavorful with lots of lemon, ripe apple and melon all wrapped up with a limestone mineral taste that had hints of vanilla. Bright acidity and a long lemon/mineral tasting finish. WOW what an easy drinking Chardonnay, it was VERY flavorful, fresh & zesty with a dramatic lemony mineral finish. It’s also unusual because you can smell the limestone, taste the mineral flavor and feel the dusty chalkiness in the mouthfeel. Outstanding paired with both the cream sauce and the Greek salad, but sipping alone after the meal it really shined as all the different flavors and tastes became noticeable. (2017 Tasting) The second tasting was similar to the 2015 but, the color was more lemon yellow, there was more texture in the mouthfeel and the predominately apple flavor changed to pear. The mineral, although still present was much less dominant in the 2017 and in the end we called it simply “a GREAT white Burgundy”. (January 17, 2021)
