Chilled before drinking. Clear, dark oat straw color. Quite strong apple, citrus, mineral and nutty aromas. Silky smooth, tart and slightly buttery mouthfeel, medium to full body and 200-grit texture. Heavy ripe apple, quince and glimmers of intermittent pineapple flavors. Just enough bright acidity, and a long bitter apple and melon tasting very clean finish. When carefully tasting this Chardonnay it seemed everything was in step. We thought it was okay with the quiche, but much better as a sipping wine after the dinner. It was easy drinking, but didn’t have the unoaked light and zesty taste that’s found in traditionally Burgundian Chardonnay. With all that said, in the end we called it an EXCELLENT Chardonnay value.
