Tasting:

Chilled before drinking. Slightly cloudy, dark oat straw color. Robust overripe apple aromas. Slightly edgy, chalky and syrupy mouthfeel, full body and a 150-grit texture. Apple cider like flavor with hazelnut tastes in the background. Some acidity, but it lacked freshness because of the heavy mouthfeel. The long finish that carried the tastes on and on didn’t help and actually made it more unpleasant. WOW, what a disappointment. It was one dimensional and really lacked the light and zesty characteristics we expected. In a nutshell it just tasted old, tired and washed out. We’ve never had any Domaine Costal wine before, but it sure wasn’t up the the high standards we’ve come to expect from Kermit Lynch wines!!!
