Tasting:

Chilled before drinking. Clear, very dark golden color. Faint damp basement, over ripe apple and peach aromas. Smooth, waxy and just a hint oxidative mouthfeel, heavy body and a 200-grit texture. Tart Granny Smith apple, dusty mineral and tropical flavors with a touch of honey every few sips. Mild acidity, but enough to make the wine fresh in the mouth and a long soft, bitter apple finish. The dark color set the stage for a heavy rather flabby white wine. Good with the dinner, but we commented that “this wine was very filling”…an unusual comment we’ve never made before!!! A Mellow wine, that’s light on flavor and crispness, but strong on mineral. An interesting and benign Spanish white that just wasn’t our cup of tea!!!
