Recommendation: A MEMORABLE Italian white wine that’s an excellent buy.

Paired With: Chicken with pesto sauce; linguine with olive oil, garlic and Parmesan cheese; mixed green salad with artisan olive oil and vinegar.
Tasting:
He said: Chilled before opening. Clear, oat straw color. UNBELIEVABLE (in bold caps) honeysuckle and floral aromas. Strong ripe apple, pear and honey taste that is very fresh, bone dry and not at all sweet. The medium-long finish is deliciously dry and loaded with fruit, citrus rind and an unusual damp rock minerality. It had a silky mouth-feel, but with lots of acidity. This is simply OUTSTANDING Italian white wine. If I bought wine by the case I would get as much of this one as I could find…this is jumping up and down good. The last taste was just as good as the first sip…it’s a very special wine that’s worth some extra effort to find.
Note: There was a tiny amount of white sediment in the last pour, but it sank right to the bottom of the glass so it didn’t interfere with drinking the last sip.
She said: I can’t resist a nip just before dinner and I was dazzled by the delicate floral aroma and flavor. When I started drinking it with dinner I was even more impressed and could hardly refrain from slurping it all down. It’s fresh, light, dry qualities went well with each part of the dinner and brought out the fruitiness of the artisan olive oil and vinegar. I have already put in a request for more; the wine is so versatile it could accompany many foods. And, I would be in heaven just sipping it with no food at all. This is a very unique WOW, WOW, WOW wine and it’s a GREAT price for the value.
Comments: This was a Wine of the month from the “Adventures Club” at our favorite wine store…The Caviste Wine Shop in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
