He said: Opened 45-minutes before drinking. Dark garnet color with a slightly lighter rim. Powerful dark fruit aromas with lots of smokiness. Smooth, dry, very full-body and slightly tart; intense, jammy cherry and current taste with a strong mineral spine that goes all the way through the long finish and ends with firm, but well integrated tannins. We did a tasting at the Turley Vineyard last summer and this is the one we picked as the Zinfandel we liked “best”. It was a super pairing with the BBQ chicken and simply OUTSTANDING drinking alone after the dinner. This is SPECIAL Zinfandel and it’s a wine that gets an unqualified recommendation from us. Although it’s full-bodied and packed with fruit it has a rich freshness that separates it from other top notch California Zinfandel. We drink a lot of very good Zinfandel when were in California and if this one is not at the top of our list it’s very close to it. When describing Zinfandel, this is simply the best of the best!!!
She said: Very dark garnet red color with a slight brown rim and a cathedral of legs. When Ray says Zinfandel, I say “do it”. I adore the wine and this one did not disappoint. Right from the first sniff the aroma swept me away with its fruitiness and the full-bodied flavor knocked my socks off. Dry, delicious and with grippy tannins that balance the juiciness. I loved every sip and I can’t wait to go back to the Turley vineyard, enjoy a picnic lunch with one of their Zinfandels and then buy a case to carry home to LA and North Carolina. This is my love affair with wine and a spectacular example. Fabulous Zinfandel and all I want to do is sip and enjoy every tiny taste!
