Tasting:

Note: This year while in California we are reviewing a substantial number of wines sold in grocery stores. This review is one of them. To see all of our grocery store wine reviews look under the keyword “Grocery Store Wines”.

Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, dark garnet color with a light purple rim. Sweet raspberry and blackberry preserves aromas. Sweet syrupy mouthfeel, 150-grit texture and a medium body. VERY SWEET (more than coke or other soda pop) fruity flavors. Mild acidity, nonexistent tannins and a medium length sweet juicy fruit finish that ended with a harsh and raspy back-of-the-throat feel. WOW, the red box wine we sometimes cook with has less sweetness and more tannins!!! For our palate this was simply way to sweet. We didn’t enjoy it, we would never buy it again and we don’t recommend it…period.
