He said: Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Opaque, dark purple color with a light brick red rim. Cherry and dark fruit aromas with hints of floral (the first pour had hints of alcohol and it became more earthy by the last pour). Layers of fruit flavors, firm tannins and very smooth taste that goes into a mouth-filling dry lingering stony finish you can chew on. Triple WOW…this is not your usual Italian red…the complexity of flavors, intensity of fruit and the dusty dry finish are simply OUTSTANDING. All thumbs up from me. Excellent with the pesto sauce and fantastic drinking alone…an OUTSTANDING Italian red I would recommend without reservation.
She said: Very dark red color, opaque, with lots of substantial legs zipping downward. Pleasant but mild fruity aroma followed by subtle fruity flavors and a heavy body that can almost be chewed. Dry, smooth and sumptuous, it has moderate tannins that comprise most of the long finish. I enjoyed the wine with the dinner because the flavors of the wine complemented the pesto sauce on the pasta while the tomatoes filled the role of providing an acidic note. At $24 it is a good wine but lacks the aroma I have come to expect at this price point.
