Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, light brownish ruby color with a lighter rim. Earthy cherry, plum and old bales of dry hay aromas. Smooth entry, slightly rustic, spicy and tart mouthfeel, solid medium body and 150-grit texture. Lots of tart cherry, plum and mushroom flavors. Dominating edgy acidity, persistent fine grained tannins and a long bitter fruit finish. WOW, what an unusual Pinot Noir!!! It had the underlying tastes of a Pinot Noir, but at the same time had the vigor and excitement of a red Italian table wine. It paired well with the turkey flavors and was enjoyable sipping after the meal although the fresh acidity slightly overpowered the delicious fruit and tannins. A unique wine that includes the character of both red Burgundy and a spirited Italian red table wine.
