He said: Very slightly chilled (to cellar temperature) before opening. Beautiful dark ruby red color with a light ruby rim. Cherry and musty cellar aromas. Fairly strong cherry, spicy and smoky taste and a long dry finish with a medium-light tannic structure. Light, fruity and easy drinking without food before the dinner and VERY NICE paired with the tender pork. Fairly well balanced Pinot Noir that was more “Old World” than most of the Pinot Noir we have had from Australia. It was a delicious Australian Pinot Noir with lots of fruit and spice flavor.
She said: Translucent with numerous very thin zippy legs. The slightly chilled wine had moderately intense aroma with sweaty horse dominating. Light body, with slightly thin fruit flavors with a mustiness mixed in. The aromas and flavors increased as the wine warmed up. The finish was dry, flavorful and long. Excellent pairing with the pork medallions and a great buy! Tasty and well balanced, the wine delivered and was an excellent accompaniment to the dinner and good sipping after the dinner . It was more like a French Pinot Noir than other Australian Pinot’s we have tasted.
Comments: Purchased from a Sidney, Australia wine shop and consumed in the Britannia Restaurant on board the Cunard Queen Mary 2.
