He said: Opened 15-minutes before drinking. Clear, ruby red color with a slight purple hue and lighter rim; the wine had an unusual sparkling radiance to it in the glass. Rich wet wood, damp earth and very ripe cherry aromas with just a tiny hint of mushrooms. Smooth, spicy, robust, medium-bodied with juicy cherry and current taste that had a slightly rough character. The finish starts slowly with intense fruit flavors, but turns quickly into a tartness that finally ends with flavors that completely engulf the mouth senses. For me it was just a tad hot when swallowed. With the cheese it gets a outstanding rating, drinking alone it was excellent. In the end it was a nice California Pinot Noir that’s a good value for the price.
She said: Ruby red color, opaque, fat slow moving legs. An earthy aroma introduced a sumptuous cherry flavor with a dry smooth mouth feel and medium body. The finish was tasty but short. The wine was overwhelmed by the strong blue cheeses but did well with most of them. I would choose a different wine for cheese tasting, but buy this again for a ham or pork dinner.
