He said: Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Clear, light Ruby red color with the same color rim. Lots of damp earth, wet wood and plum aromas. Cherry and plum taste with hints of red current and a long, dry, slightly peppery finish that ends with a potent amount of licorice. It had a noteworthy balance between the acidity and fruit flavors. Very nice pairing with the grilled swordfish and good drinking alone after the dinner. Smooth, very easy drinking Pinot Noir that had distinctive California fruit flavors. Did I like it, well I’m not jumping up and down, but this was very nice California Pinot Noir and a pretty good value for the price.
She said: Ruby red color, opaque, with an orchestra of thin beautifully spaced well moving legs. Mild but very pleasant earthy aroma followed by a mouthful of red fruit flavors. California style, accompanied by a dry and smooth mouth-feel with a medium light body. The tannins were pleasant and dominated the long flavorful finish. The wine was delicious with dinner but even better sipping and although not a bargain wine, I would buy it again at $40 for a special dinner.
