Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, light ruby color with a lighter rim. Wonderfully robust cherry, sliced mushrooms and wispy “Pope Paul rose” blossom aromas. Silky smooth, thin and noticeably dusty mouthfeel, light to medium body and a 200-grit texture. Boisterous flavors of ripe cherry, cranberry, bread right out of the toaster and just a touch of licorice. Plenty of bright acidity, light fine grain tannins that grew very slowly and a long earthy finish that was dominated with a licorice taste, but ended with a fruity aftertaste. This was a VERY SMOOTH Pinot Noir and there was a very slight, but unique and persistent mineral background from mid-palate through the finish. We both commented that it was OUTSTANDING Pinot Noir.
