Tasting:

Opened one hour before drinking. Clear ruby color with a slightly lighter rim. Light cherry, current and earthy aromas giving a vegetative character that reminds me of fresh bailed hay. Smooth easy entry with an edgy freshness, medium-body and a 150-grit texture. Tart cherry, current, tar and tobacco flavors. Bone-dry with lots of fresh acidity, dusty mineral and round-edged mouth-puckering tannins that go all the way through the long finish and end with a slightly bitter tar taste. A DELICIOUS, quite burly, yet VERY APPROACHABLE Sicilian red wine that was perfect paired with the pizza and got better with each pour (we should have decanted it). An EXCELLENT Nerello Mascalese blend and one we will buy again.
