Opened and decanted 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, light ruby color with a slightly lighter rim. Intoxicating cherry, raspberry and damp earth aromas with wonderful hints of a distant rose floral. Smooth entry, tart, dusty and rustic mouthfeel, medium body and a 150-grit texture. Spicy cherry, licorice and just-sliced fruitcake flavors. Bright acidity, fantastic firm tannins and a profound dry, bitter and cherry tasting finish that ends with an ephemeral mineral taste. Excellent with the dinner because the dryness and acidity complemented the olive oil in the dinner. Very well balanced for a young Nebbiolo at this low price. The bouquet was really noteworthy and worth the price of the wine!!! We called it a GREAT weeknight Nebbiolo.
