Tasting:

Opened and decanted 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, dark ruby color with a light gray-purple color rim. Wonderful musty cherry and red fruit aromas with increasing hints of wood smoke on every pour. Smooth, bone dry, fresh and tangy mouthfeel, medium to full body and a 150-grit texture. Powerful cherry, raspberry, cranberry and licorice flavors. Medium acidity, fine grained yet prospering tannins that provide a robust backbone and a medium length bitter cherry and fig tasting finish. This was an easy drinking, gulpable Nebbiolo wine. Everything was in balance and although we would not describe it as regal, it was a delicious Italian Nebbiolo. Each part of the wine had a wonderful symbiotic relationship and there was an essence of sweet ripe fruit in the finish that really set off the rockets. We called it an OUTSTANDING week-night Nebbiolo that had lots of special characteristics and it was a FANTASTIC value.
