Opened and decanted 90 minutes before drinking. Clear, pale purple color, with a slightly lighter rim. New leather and cherry aromas. Smooth entry with a mouthfeel that was bone dry, thin, vibrant and with a touch of sparkle. Tart cranberry, cherry and strawberry fruit flavors with intermittent tastes of dried figs. Just the right amount of bright acidity, smooth, but dominating grippy tannins and a mouth puckering fruit finish with just a splash of spice at the very end. It was so flavorful and mouth filling it was like a full body red. Even with the 90-minute decanting the third pour was significantly more refined. We called it a light Nebbiolo that was both fresh as a Spring shower and long on substance. We really enjoyed it with our casual chili dinner and the wine made it memorable.
