Opened and decanted one hour before drinking. Clear, brownish-ruby color with a light brownish-purple rim. Very pronounced aromas of cherry, wet wood dried tobacco and refreshing rose floral. WOW very smooth entry, spicy, dry and a curl your tongue mouthfeel, light to medium body and a 100-grit texture. Cherry, raspberry, fig and a little anise flavors. Lots of well integrated bright acidity, delicious firm tannins and a long exciting finish. WOW, WOW, WOW this was exhilarating, voluptuous and nothing short of SPECTACULAR Nebbiolo at this price point. The aromas leaped out of the bottle as soon as the cork was removed, it was fresh, with complex flavors and tannins good enough to write home about. This was our first Fratelli Alessandria wine, but we’re impressed, BIG TIME!!! We called it a Nebbiolo priced WAY BELOW its value.
