He said: Opened and decanted 30-minutes before drinking. Crystal clear, ruby red color with a light rim. Opulent plum and dark fruit aromas. Mouth-puckering tart fruit, but smooth, STRONG, dry dark fruit taste…thick enough you can almost chew it. Very, very long dry finish that’s packed with delicious tannins that have a slight grip. This is a triple WOW wine that has it all…a fantastic bouquet for a Barolo, lots of chewable flavors and an unbelievable long finish. A MEMORABLE Barolo wine that was a perfect pairing with the Parmesan cheese chicken and pasta, but spectacular with the dinner and without food after the dinner. We had this Dacapo Barolo at a tasting a week ago and it stood out than, but with the meal it was even more delicious. Decanting was a good thing…with every pour the wine improved and by the last pour (one hour and a half after opening) it was simply SPECTACULAR (in BOLD CAPS). Not inexpensive, but a real treat and one I would like to repeat often!!!
She said: Ruby red, opaque, lots of evenly spaced, thin zippy legs. Decanted about 30 minutes before dinner the wine has a full dark fruit aroma. Followed by a more pronounced dark fruit flavor. The flavor is complemented by a dry medium body and a mouthful of pleasing tannins that last into an unbelievable long finish (I had Ray time it and it was over a minute in length!). At $46 it is over our bargain wine budget but we would buy it again as a special occasion wine, especially with a dinner with lots of Parmesan cheese in it.
