Tasting:

Opened and decanted for 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, brownish ruby color with a light brownish red rim. Dark fruit, old leather, smoky wood, new unused clay flower pots and cinnamon spice aromas. Silky smooth and bone dry mouthfeel, light body and a 200-grit texture. Plum, blackberry, cherry, and licorice flavors. Bright acidity, firm well-integrated tannins and a dry mouthwatering fruit flavored finish that ends with lots of tar. WOW, powerful, refined, burly, elegant and memorable…it was simply OUTSTANDING Barolo. We’ve been having the venison meatloaf with Zinfandel and loved the pairings, but this Barolo was a real step up. Now for the punchline…the wine was truly outstanding and the price was an absolute steal. We’ve had lots of Barolo in the past, but nothing anywhere near as good for this price. It’s really a FANTASTIC value!!!
