Opened and decanted one hour before drinking. Clear, ruby color with a brownish cast and slightly lighter rim. Cherry, plum, cinnamon, wood smoke and floral aromas. Smooth entry, light, rich and impassioned mouthfeel, light to medium body and a 80-grit texture. Ripe cherry, plum, tobacco and menthol flavors. Intergraded acidity, firm tannins and a long finish that was filled with bitter tar and cherry coke. WOW, energetic, suave and focused with fruit tastes intertwined with tannins. We liked the Platinetti Guido “baby brother” Nebbiolo (see: Platinetti Guido Nebbiolo Colline Novaresi 2018), but this one was more refined and had lots more going on in the bottle. Even with the extra cost we would pick this one in a heartbeat. This was a notable Nebbiolo at a very reasonable cost.
