He said: Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Clear, ruby red color with a light rim. Intense plum and wet wood aromas. Very SMOOTH, POWERFUL spicy taste with abundant plum, cherry and current. And, all this flavor continues through a long dry finish and an even longer after-taste. The strong flavors are “New World” but they are so good there is an intoxicating character to the wine. Simply delicious and a wine worth some extra effort to find.
She said: Ruby red color, opaque, with irregular thin, zippy legs that believe the 12% alcohol content. Luscious intense aroma of dark cherry with a hint of current. The mouth was dry, flavorful, with lots of dark fruit flavors and had a light to medium body. The tannins were soft but lasted into the long finish along with the flavors. There was even a noticeable lingering after taste that continued the flavors. I liked the wine better as a sipping wine than with the dinner. The cinnamon in the dinner drowned out the flavors in the wine and obscured the finish. I would buy this wine again for its fruitiness but in general prefer a wine with more body to balance the intense flavors.
