Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, garnet color with a lighter red rim. Light cherry, blackberry, sweet spice and a little smoke aromas. Smooth entry, very tart, dusty and chewy mouthfeel, 100-grit texture and a medium body. Tart plum, blackberry and mulberry fruit flavors along with peppery spice and mineral. Medium fresh acidity, soft fine grained tannins and a long bitter finish where the tannins make their appearance. WOW, well balanced, dry, tart fruit flavors and a little unusual. Paired well with the potato nachos and was an absolute delight sipping without food. This was a wine that grew on you…the more we had the better we liked it!!! By the last sip we called it an uncommon and delicious light red wine from the Canary Islands.
