He said: Chilled before drinking. Opaque, very dark purple color with a light purple rim. A fine bubbly effervesce and strong raspberry and barnyard aromas. Dominant and POWERFUL raspberry flavors carry through the long dryish, slightly tart finish. As it warmed up the finish grew more dry and tart and the flavors mellowed. Very refreshing and a giant step from the wines we normally drink, but in the end it was a delicious, low alcohol, refreshing wine that is perfect for summer sipping on the patio.
She said: Opaque, very very dark ruby red color, lots of fat, evenly spaced, slowly moving legs. A huge amount of pink fizz immediately suggested raspberry so perhaps I was influenced to think it had a raspberry aroma and taste. As dinner and wine settled into place I found the aroma disappearing, but berry flavor more pronounced with a light body and smooth, dry mouth-feel. The wine was refreshing with the pizza although not particularly in tune with the many diverse flavors of the toppings (which, frankly, didn’t go together that well). The finish was long and featured the raspberry flavors with a touch of tartness. The wine improved greatly sipping alone and I suspect that we had a horrible pairing. I would try this one again with another dinner!
