He said: Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, dark garnet color with the same color rim. Intense fresh plum, current and spice aromas with lots of lingering smokiness. Full body, dry and mouth puckering. Loaded with juicy, yet concentrated plum and cherry fruit flavors, plenty of acidity and ends with a long spicy finish and exuberant supple tannins. Excellent pairing with the meatloaf dinner and you really get a lot of bang for your buck with this wine. It’s a two thumbs up from me and I’d call it a GREAT Rhône red that’s a fantastic value.
She said: Almost opaque, dark ruby red color, lots of thin irregularly spaced quickly moving legs. Get ready for a powerful wine with this one because it is no shrinking violet. With a big musky aroma and juicy fruit flavors the wine is full-bodied, acidic and full of tannins. The long finish began with a touch of spice, but continued the acidity and tannins. An excellent pairing with the meatloaf and gravy and definitely a great bargain wine at only $14.40.
