Opened and decanted one hour before drinking. Opaque, dark purple color with a slightly lighter rim. Jumping up and down WOW aroma…warm Pennsylvania mushroom house smell with lots of cherry, raspberry and hints of smoke. A powerful, yet smooth, strong medium body and an opulent mouth-feel; concentrated and layered raspberry, cherry and sweet spice flavors that stay through the long finish that’s full of fine structured tannins, just the right amount of acidity and a dry finish with a slightly peppery end. This was an unbelievably intense, but elegant wine and a truly MEMORABLE Rioja. Sipping this wine was like a 10 second quarter mile in a Super Seven…wild, jumping and exhilarating at the beginning, intoxicating euphoria half way through and in just a blink of the eye, catching your breath and regaining your composure after the finish…WOW what a ride!!! It was an OUTSTANDING Rioja!!!
