He said: Opened 1-hour before drinking. Clear, dark cherry red color with the same color rim. Fresh turned damp loam, fir wood shavings, new leather, ripe berries and a touch of spring flowers in the aroma. Smooth, fairly light body, but powerful Grenache taste of ripe raspberries, currents, cherries and even a touch of strawberries…all sprinkled with just a tiny shake of fresh-ground pepper. The flavors continue through a long, dry, almost silky finish with very light crisp acidity. FANTASTIC Grenache!!! Spot-on Grenache bouquet, perfect dry, slightly tart fruit flavors and the finish with soft tannins and mineral taste was absolutely delicious…and the end result is…it tasted like an “Old World” Grenache!!! Not inexpensive, but a excellent value California Grenache that’s simply OUTSTANDING.
She said: Bright red, almost opaque, clear, sparkling, with irregularly spaced, thin, pokey legs. With a full earthy aroma and hints of floral, the wine does not disappoint with its lovely woody flavor that fills the mouth. The body is light but the wine is so flavorful that I hardly miss it. The mouth-feel is very smooth and luscious, the finish flavorful, dry and long lasting. The tannins were soft but significant. The wine went well with the dinner and I would buy it again in a flash.
