Opened 45-minutes before drinking. Clear, but just off opaque, pale garnet color with a brown tint and a lighter rim. Noteworthy cherry, damp earth and apple blossom aromas. Smooth entry, medium body and a rather course 150-grit texture. Lots of ripe cherry, raspberry and plum flavors, lively acidity and gobs of grippy tannins that all culminate in a long VERY FRESH and spicy finish. WOW, a little rustic, well balanced and delicious Italian red that’s similar to Sangiovese, but with a little more body. Outstanding paired with the red sauce, but equally as good sipping after the meal. Savory wine made from indigenous Italian grapes that was a real treat.
