He said: Opened the night before and recorked. Clear garnet red color with a purple tint and a lighter rim of the same color. Enormous damp earth, barnyard and ripe plum aromas. Unusually smooth, dry and fruity mouth feel. Fantastic plum, cherry and blueberry flavors with a slight smoky undertone and hints of spiciness that ends tart and lingers into a marvelous dusty after-taste. This was a jumping up and down good wine…a very soft textured wine that was well balanced in spite of it’s low acidity. A perfect pairing with the mussels in tomato sauce and fantastic sipping without food. Although our review is from the second day’s drinking we didn’t notice a significantly change over the 24-hours. Excellent Dolcetto d’Alba we would recommend in a heartbeat. We both gave this one two thumbs up!!!
She said: If you treasure aroma, complex flavor and dryness in red wine this is a must try. With a big earthy and barnyard aromas, delicious fruity taste, medium to full-body, delightfully tannic and beautifully smooth. The finish continued the flavors, but on a lesser scale and kept the puckering dryness and soft tannins to the very end. A great wine pairing with the mussels, incredible sipping alone and an excellent buy at $26.10.
