Tasting:
-
Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, VERY LIGHT ruby color with the same color rim. Lots of Damp earth, cherry, raspberry and orange blossom floral aromas. Smooth, slightly off-dry, rustic, spicy and vibrant mouthfeel, more substantial light to medium body than it appeared when pouring in the glass and a 100 grit texture. Cherry strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, plum and orange flavors with lots of salty dust and spice in the bitter taste. Light acidity, soft tannins and a long peppery spice finish. FANTASTIC bouquet, lots of zesty tastes and filled with high string and exciting California fruity tastes. We were put off by the unusual skittery character of the tastes, but we did like the aromas and wide range of fruit flavors. It was easy drinking unpretentious red wine, but we both commented that we weren’t excited about this bottle of Turley wine…and we usually are!!!
