Tasting:

He said: Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, dark garnet with a brick red rim. Dark fruit aromas with lots of damp earth. Smooth fruity taste with a very dry Chianti finish. WOW, this was terrific and not your typical Chianti. Lots of spicy fruit flavors, intense dry fruity taste and a fresh finish to die for…long, dry and layers of flavors. Perfect with the tomato based dinner and OUTSTANDING drinking alone after dinner. Wine this good doesn’t come by every day and it’s a real treat to get a MEMORABLE wine at this price. It’s a unique Chanti that’s a VERY good value. If you can find this one buy all you can get. With Asiago cheese it’s hand and glove PERFECT!!!

She said: Very dark garnet color, it was almost opaque. The legs were numerous well space, thin and moved with a purpose. My first sniff let me know that this wine was special and I was not disappointed. I could be happy just inhaling the aroma all day. And if you like a horsey smell you will too. On the palette the wine is dry, fruity, has a full body and is chewy. The tannins tease the palette and last into a long chewy flavor filled finish. This is the kind of wine that I could sip for a whole evening with just one glass. It was fabulous with the dinner and equally good as a sipping wine. The aroma, flavor, and finish were outstanding and far beyond my expectations for an $18 wine. I enthusiastically recommend this wine, even though it is over our limit for a bargain wine. It is a great Chianti for $18. When paired with Asiago cheese the wine was to die for. A simple lunch of bread, this cheese and wine would be memorable. It is lip licking good.
