He said: Opened 30-minutes before drinking. Opaque, inky dark purple color. This is SPECTACULAR Cabernet, right from the first sniff. Potent aromas of plum, cherry, damp earth and hints of moldy hay. SMOOTH mouth-feel with a very strong fruit taste and vegetative herbs that evolves into a long dry finish with mouth puckering tannins. A Triple WOW Cabernet that went well beyond the norm…with the beef stew it was singing for me, but it was equally good sipping after the dinner. The bouquet alone is worth the price but for a Cabernet this rich it’s a TREMENDOUS value. It is a jumping up and down Cabernet that I give 5-stars and a “without reservation” recommendation. This is VERY SPECIAL Cabernet!!!
She said: Deep garnet red color, opaque, lots of thin very speedy legs. From the first to the last sniff this wine delivered a pungent delicious aroma. The dark fruit flavors are accompanied by a full body and a mouth full of tannins that last into the long finish. I love the stew and love the wine but think that the combination was not made in heaven; the two just didn’t marry perfectly. Ray has promised to make the stew again soon using Bordeaux wine instead of IPA beer as part of the liquid. The wine alone was superb and I would recommend it as a very special Cabernet Sauvignon.
