Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, very dark ruby color with a lighter ruby rim. Cherry, blackberry, fresh herbs and light musty basement aromas. Smooth entry, dry, firm, medium to full body and a 100-grit texture. Puissant cherry, current, chocolate, and persistent vegetative flavors. Bright acidity, smooth edged chewy tannins that really come alive in the long cherry and chocolate tasting finish. WOW, lots of acidity for a red wine and a GREAT tannic framework. No shrinking violet here…we called it an elegant and eccentric red wine with lots of gusto.
