He said: Opened 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, vivid ruby red color with a light purple rim. Strong cherry, raspberry and damp earth aromas. Smooth, medium/light body; vibrant fruit, dry with a very long finish. Bright tangy acidity, fruity, tart dustiness and a musky spiciness that really elevates the finish. Fantastic with the tomato sauce in the eggplant Parmesan and quite Chianti-like drinking alone. Fantastic paired with the eggplant Parmesan and a SUPER value. A TREMENDOUS bargain and a savory Super Tuscan blend.
She said: Opaque, very dark ruby red with lots of thin steadily moving legs. This is an amazing wine for $11.95, it delivers a big dark fruit aroma and even bolder dark fruit flavors with a smooth dry mouth feel. The tannins are smooth and are the main feature in the long finish. Delicious with the eggplant Parmesan, probably because of the high acidity. This is a top pick for a bargain wine in my book and I would buy it again in a flash. I would love to slip this wine into a Super Tuscan tasting and see how it would stand up to pricier wines.
