Opened one hour before drinking. Clear, ruby color with a lighter rim. Impressive musty damp earth, newly tanned leather and smoky aromas accompanied by lots of ripe cherry, raspberry and even some freshly baked bread smells. Smooth, fleshy, dry and tart, opulent medium body and a 200-grit texture. Overflowing with spicy raspberry, cherry and plum flavors, but with lots of secondary flavors dominated by licorice and a musky spice that all really come together for a mid-palate climax. Fresh acidity, supple tannins and an undaunted burly finish. Incredible Côtes du Rhône wine that simply has it all…to die for bouquet, gobs of fruit taste, a long delicious finish and an inexpensive price!!! Perfect paired with the strong venison flavor, but great sipping after the dinner. A PRIZE-WINNING stalwart Côtes du Rhône red blend that’s a FANTASTIC bargain.
