He said: Opened and decanted 1-hour before drinking. Opaque, dark garnet/purple color with a dark purple rim. Ripe cherry, blackberry and current aromas. VERY POWERFUL, smooth, ripe fruit flavors that starts luscious and end with a dusty, slightly bitter taste. Almost overwhelming it’s so INTENSE in flavor, acidity and well structured tannins. It was great with the BBQ pork, but for my palate, simply to much drinking without food. As we sipped it we both commented that it was a pretty good Zinfandel blend, but was simply to intense for either of us…WOW, that says a lot, especially paired with a BBQ pork dinner!!!
She said: Opaque, inky, almost black color with evenly spaced legs that slowly crawled down the glass. vibrant fruity aroma gave only a hint of what was to come. The mouth experience was overwhelming with such intense flavors that needed to be paired with the BBQ pork or cheese. The mouth-feel was dry, very smooth and full-bodied. The finish was long and full of ripe fruit flavors and round tannins. A big bold Zinfandel blend that was wild and uncontrolled until paired with the proper food, but then it was delicious and I would buy it again to have with another strong flavorful dinner that could stand up to this potent wine.
