Opened 90-minutes before drinking. Clear, purple/ruby color with a light purple rim. Quite aromatic damp earth, cherry, blackberry, ripe plum and hints of cedar wood aromas. Smooth entry, juicy, and uncomplicated mouthfeel, medium to full body and an 100-grit texture. Blackberry, ripe plum and chocolate flavors. Just enough bright acidity, fine grained tannins that pop into a mouth filing and slightly chewy medium length bitter fruit finish. An unpretentious Bordeaux that was delicious with the venison meatloaf and made an EXCELLENT “week-night” red. The Merlot dominated blend tasted like 100% Merlot. It was fruit forward, svelte and easy drinking but lacked the complexity usually found in a Bordeaux blend. We called it an inexpensive “Garden Variety” Bordeaux red
